A long rocky outcrop protrudes into the Gottestal. From here you can see unhindered to the south and to the east on the Poppenberg. Access to the cliff is to be ventured with extreme caution when wet. At the entrance to the cliff there is a seating area for a break. Nearby there is also the Oberen Bielstein and the Kupfertals-Klippe.

The "Bielsteinkanzel" is surrounded by an old legend: A long time ago, the forest god Biel is said to have lived here and ruled from his "God's pulpit". Priests and the forest people from nearby settlements served and cared for the forest god.
Christianization ended this pagan belief in gods.
