High Willhays summit

Recommended by 160 hikers

Out in the wilds of rugged Dartmoor, hiking trails to High Willhays make you feel as though you’re far more remote than you are. The UK’s highest point south of the Brecon Beacons, the summit will provide you with sweeping views south across the national park and down to the English Channel. To the north, admire the patchwork blanket of colourful fields.

The highest point on Dartmoor and the highest summit south of the Brecon Beacons. Very accessible and an easy hike for most people to do. The best thing is the wonderful views, especially on a sky blue spring day like today. Love raw and rugged Dartmoor!❤️

The higher part of the park but slightly underwhelming in comparison to Yes Tor or Great Links Tor. A must to visit though and the nearby Fordsland Ledge boasts a stunning view of the Okemont Valley.
