It is worth visiting Hanselaer. Hanselaer was first mentioned in the 12th century, and is even older than the city of Kalkar, which was founded in 1230. The Cologne Women's Monastery of Saint Maria had a manor with a church here.
You can see almost the same as the Dutch artist Jan de Beijer when he drew "'t Dorp Hanseler" in 1746. Come here and enjoy Hanselaer, the most changing village on the Lower Rhine.

Hanselaer is barely two kilometers from the center of Kalkar. The village, located on a ward, is surrounded by meadows and fields, which are crossed by ditches. The Lower Rhine village character is particularly emphasized by willows, reeds and thatch.St. Antonius Church is considered the most beautiful village church in the Lower Rhine. It contains three precious, late Gothic carved altars, which were created by the carvers of the Kalkar altars. The small church is worth a visit. The modest-looking but richly equipped church shows how closely the people of Hanselaer have always been and are connected to their village and to the church. This place is an oasis on the Lower Rhine - a place of rest, relaxation and originality.

Nice little quaint idyllic village, surrounded by polluted willows, a typical picture for the Lower Rhine 🌾🌾🌾👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
