Here in Osterloh, just before Celle, the Aller is now a real river. Before you reach the city you still come through the Upper Allerniederung. A beautiful, peaceful landscape area before becoming urban in Celle.

Status 2021 - Current reconstruction of the area (renaturation). At the moment, huge amounts of earth and stones are being moved at the Osterloh weir. The reason lies in the restoration of a natural river landscape in the area of the Aller weir there. You create, so to speak, a new additional river bed with a connection to an existing, old Allerarm. The course of the Aller cycle path will be changed in this area in the near future due to the renaturation.

I do not like to judge, if the water rushes here differently than for example in offense, Langlingen or tired ...

Here is a good place to take a break and let your eyes run free.
Some cyclists stop here and you can exchange experiences.

The Osterloher Allerwehr invites you to take a short break ... The view to the east on the leisurely flowing smooth Aller ... the west seething it just at high tide quite violent .... It is planned to reduce the weir in the coming years to fish to enable the way to their traditional spawning grounds. For this purpose, the old arm "Theewinkel" should be included in the upper water.

The weir is currently being redesigned and the Aller Cycle Path is closed on this section ..... Status July 26th, 21st The Aller is now flowing again through the Aller's oxbow lake. The weir has been drained and no more water flows through the weir towards Celle. the Allerschild on the weir has already been removed. A new bridge over the Aller leads over the Old Allerarm.

Construction site at the Allerwehr near Osterloh. The start is February 16, 2021, and the work should be completed by the end of July. During the construction period, the Aller cycle path will have to be temporarily closed.A renaturation measure should make the Aller ecologically sustainable again.
