The chapel was built by religious teacher Domprediger Dr. Johann Maier, who looked after the parish from 1935 to 1936, ordained in 1936.
The Nazis arrested the priest at a public rally. Maier was sentenced by an immediately convoked court and hung on April 24, 1945 in what is today the Dachauplatz.
