In Londypark, directly on the Aller, is one of the oldest windmill (1594) in Lower Saxony. together with bakery and storage. Various bronze sculptures line the path. A miniature golf course offers another pastime.
The Burghof is the cultural event center of Rethem. The rural women in the Burghof Café offer inexpensive coffee and home-baked cake on Sundays from 2 pm to 5 pm from March to November.
