Very impressive gorge. The entrance fee is 5 € but that's definitely worth it. Before the hike you get an instruction how to behave in the gorge and learn interesting things about nature

The Gorropu Gorge or Gorroppu is considered the deepest and most spectacular canyon in Europe.

It is located in Supramonte, Sardinia, between Orgosolo and Urzulei. The gorge was slowly carved out by the water of the Rio Flumineddu. The walls of the canyon reach 500 meters in height.

The Gola Gorropu has to come up with European superlatives. It is one of the deepest on our continent, with almost 500-meter-high walls of karstic rock. Their beauty and charisma is just as breathtaking. Huge white rocks lined the route in the almost dried up riverbed of the Rio Flumineddu.

They get even bigger in the gorge itself.

Admission costs 5 euros, children get a helmet. There are three difficulty-increasing sections in the gorge, green-yellow-red. Red is only recommended with alpine equipment. The water is very scarce in summer as it is everywhere in the Mediterranean area. A hike in the spring is therefore certainly even more recommended.
