The Area Faunistica di Sa Portiscra is a nature reserve in the Supramonte di Urzulei. This is a magical, centuries-old forest with holm oaks, juniper bushes, peonies and wild orchids. Animals such as golden eagles, hawks, moufflons, wild boars, wild cats, martens and foxes feel at home here. This is why the Sardinian deer has been successfully resettled here.
Apart from the fact that the Area Faunistica di Sa Portiscra is worth a visit for the magical nature and the incredible silence, there is also an old shepherd's hut and an old goat pen and the nuragic village of Or Murales to see.
A hike is highly recommended, as there are many interesting views of the area along the way.

The journey is strenuous, at least with a 6 meter motorhome, but it is definitely worth it.
