Another attraction is the Renaissance castle built by the Treusch von Buttlar family between 1592 and 1594. [8] It is considered the most important Renaissance complex in the lower Werra. [7] In the 19th century the castle passed to the Landgraves of Hesse-Philippsthal-Barchfeld. In 1930 it was restored under Landgrave Chlodwig von Hessen-Philippsthal-Barchfeld [9] and the stair tower was provided with a half-timbered upper floor. After the Second World War, apartments were set up in the castle for a few years. It has been owned by the Kruse family since 1980. [7] Source. Wikipedia

In the course of renovation measures carried out since 1980, of which there were few, which preserved the originality of the building, the original floor plan was regained within the building by removing later fixtures. By repairing the dilapidated outbuildings, it was possible to preserve the historical complex as a whole as much as possible. The careful design of the small park increases the picturesque charm of Nesselröden Castle and its importance as a cultural monument.

Actually doesn't look bad. Unfortunately closed. However, renovation works are in progress. It's been a while since the last one. Landgrave Chlodwig von Hessen commissioned this in 1930.

Well, good things take time. But it's a nice little gem.
