The party congress of 1934, which took place on the zeppelin grandstand and the zeppelin meadow in front of it, is probably one of the best-known images from the Nazi era - partly because of the propagandistic film "Triumph of the Will" by Leni Riefenstahl. Incidentally, the main Zeppelin grandstand is the only completely completed structure on the Nazi Party Rally Grounds. Today there is a football field on the Zeppelin meadow.

The city of Nuremberg wants to keep the buildings on the former Nazi party rally grounds, especially on the Zeppelin Field, in their current state. The fewer contemporary witnesses can report on the Nazi era, the more important such authentic places of learning in German history become for imparting historical and political education. The buildings are of particular importance for imparting knowledge about National Socialism and its propaganda techniques. They are also an important testimony to the development of a democratic culture of remembrance in the Federal Republic of Germany.
