The Mässing Valley, to which Thalmässing belongs, has a long history: It probably dates back to the 5th century. Thalmässing itself was first mentioned in 900, back then under the name "Talamazzina." It's no wonder that this tranquil village exudes a medieval flair. If you have some time, you can visit the magnificent St. Michael's Church, consecrated at the end of the 12th century. If you're looking for a bit more culture and history, stop by the Museum of Prehistory and Early History.
