Hiking

The clay sculpture is reminiscent of the occupation of the shepherd and here especially of a shepherd family based in Wevelinghoven. The terracotta group consists of the shepherd, four sheep and a herding dog and was financed by donations for the 60th birthday of the then mayor and Wevelinghoven resident Hans Gottfried Bernrath (1927-2010). The shepherd's face is modeled on the member of the Bundestag, chairman of the board of the Federal Agency for Post and Telecommunications and the last honorary mayor of the city of Grevenbroich.

Hiking

This shepherd figure stands at the beginning of a beautiful path along the Erft and fits into a beautiful landscape with paddocks and Erft.
