The former monastery church of St. John was built in the 12th century as a Romanesque basilica and has been repeatedly supplemented and changed over the centuries and stylistic epochs to the present day. Seldom in a church can one see the characteristics of the different styles so easily distinguishable next to each other. A notice board at the church entrance provides a good introduction to this. A venerable building on an atmospheric village square. steingaden.de/Welfenmuenster.16011.0.html
On the west side of the church is the monastery garden of St. John, which was redesigned in 2008 and is lovingly and lovingly cared for by the local gardening association - a true oasis. A herb garden presents old medicinal herbs, old varieties of shrub roses smell like a bet, you can rest peacefully under the large hazel bushes. Some things may have turned out to be a little sweet, but you can tell that a lot of heart and soul has gone into the project. A real asset. More information: gartenbauvereine-wm-sog.de/595.0.html
