Anyone who finds Heidelberg too crowded should come here! Beautiful old town, pretty castle and great views. In addition, a practically complete city wall. All this without admission and with relatively few tourists, a real gem!

Well-preserved hillside castle and palace complex and landmark of the city of the same name.
It can be reached from the city in about 10 to 15 minutes on foot. There is also a large parking lot in front of the facility. Many hiking trails lead along here, including the Neckarsteig. Guided tours can be booked for the castle.
Today, in addition to being a hiking destination, it is also used as a hotel and by the registry office for weddings.
Great view over the Neckar loop.
