In the northeastern part of the city wall stands the almost square Prinzeßchen with semicircular expansion, which was in the core of the old Count's border castle, whose last castle remains were demolished in 1840. The tower was built around 1750. The masks depict the four seasons. Between 1789 and 1808, the observatory of the Herrnhut Pädagogium (astronomer Paul Guethe) was housed there. From 1808 to 1845 it was privately owned. Presumably, the princess was built in the 13th century and served mainly as a fortification tower.
