The magic forest is a landslide near Ramsau in Berchtesgaden in the Upper Bavarian district of Berchtesgadener Land in Bavaria.
Characteristic are the landsliding rock fall rubble that creates a romantic atmosphere. The geotope was created about 3500-4000 years ago by a landslide of about 15 million cubic meters from the Blue Valley of the Hochkaltermassiv. This landslide, which also dammed the Ramsauer Ache to Hintersee, covered an area of 0.75 km ². The magic forest is located between the Hintersee and the Marxenklamm and is traversed by the Ramsauer Ache. Today you can the forest on the footpath, which was created in 1896/97 by the beautification club Ramsau commit. The name Zauberwald first appeared in 1920-1930.
