The Schneid Alm at an altitude of 2,151 m lies above Pfelders in the Texelgruppe Nature Park in South Tyrol. It was voted "Alpine pasture of the year" in 2015 and awarded the "Real quality on the mountain" prize. Hikers, mountaineers and high-altitude tourers get their money's worth here. From the hut, great hikes lead to the Rauhe Joch (2,926 m) or over the via ferrata to the Hinterer Seelenkogel (3,489 m). The Pfelderer/Tiroler Höhenweg leads directly past the hut.

Neighbouring huts are the Zwickauer Hütte (2,979 m) and the Stettiner Hütte (Eisjöchl, 2,875 m).
