In 1864, the master builder and hotelier Johann Friedrich Macheleidt built a residential and commercial building next to the former iron hammer in Schwarzburg in order to set up a permanent carpentry business. Incidentally, the Schwarzburgbund (non-dueling student association) was founded in this building, today Hauptstraße 20 in Schwarzburg, in 1887.
