The historic Imperial Spa (Císařské lázně, today also Lázně I) was built between 1893 and 1895 according to the design of the Viennese architects Ferdinand Fellner and Herman Helmer. It was the most modern spa house of the Austro-Hungarian Empire at that time. The decorative architecture of the building imitates the French Renaissance and combines elements from the Renaissance and Baroque periods with decorative Art Nouveau motifs. The interiors of the spa house contained the latest amenities and exceptional comfort. In recent years, the spa house, which has been declared a National Cultural Monument, has been gradually renovated.
