Hiking Highlight
The castle with its two conspicuous towers lies above the valley of the Kirneck and Barr.
To the south lies the valley of Andlau.
The stronghold, which has no courtyard, was built by the Lords of Andlau between 1337 and 1344. The access was created using the pattern of pass-through technique, with a series of traps for possible attackers.
Here you have a wonderful view.

Ruin with great views over Barr. Many information boards explain the functions of the individual building components - also in German.

Picturesque ruin, which is now in the process of refurbishing. Fortunately, there was a shelter with benches, under which we could shelter when it rained on our walk.
