    Nice climb well paved through oak woods. This road heads to the parish church of San Michele a Castiglioni. There are some beautiful viewpoints on the typical tuscany landscape. The Municipality of Montespertoli, indeed, has established this road as Museo del Paesaggio ("Landscape Museum"), a guided itinerary through the landscape of the lower Val di Pesa, which runs for two kilometers along the ridge road between Castiglioni and Montegufoni - from the chapel of the villa to the column that recalls the partisan who fell during the Second World War -; it can be reached from both Ginestra and Montagnana and does not have an obligatory order of travel. Brown directional signs indicate the path that can be done on foot, by bicycle. The information system guides the visitor in the direct observation of the traces, still identifiable in the current landscape, of landscapes that have now disappeared, telling significant moments in the history of the area. The itinerary involves the visitor in the discovery of clues relating to three landscapes:

    that of the farms of the Roman period between the middle of the first century. B.C. and the end of the second century. A.D. - le villae: farms that managed specialized productions, in particular wine;
    that of the system of Churches, divided into Plovers and Peoples, in the medieval and Renaissance periods;
    the sharecropping one, which began in the 1700s, linked in particular to the presence of an important farm, on whose property the itinerary is mostly developed, and of which the farmhouses relevant to different farms are visible.
    The Landscape Museum is part of the "Museo Diffuso Empolese Valdelsa Museum System" which combines the artistic heritage of the Municipalities of the Union of Empolese Val d'Elsa in a single ideal route as a commitment to enhance and disseminate the works of art collected in the museums in this area.

      Via di crinale between Castiglioni and Montegufoni seat of the Landscape Museum 'Via di Castiglioni'.
      Unfortunately, the information sheets along the route are not very well maintained. However, along the road you can enjoy the beautiful view over the surrounding vineyards.
