- Coat of arms granted by the district administration, in existence since 1980
- The municipalities of Vordersteinenberg, Pfahlbronn, and Alfdorf, which merged in 1972, wanted a common coat of arms incorporating the symbols of the three municipalities
- The new coat of arms is composed of the coat of arms of the former municipality of Alfdorf, the fence posts from the Pfahlbronn coat of arms, and the mountain from the Vordersteinenberg coat of arms
