The Brempt Mill was first mentioned in 1575 and belonged to Brempt Castle, the property of the Counts of Bylandt. From the 16th century, it is known that the miller of the Brempt Mill had to deliver oil to both the Niederkrüchten parish church and the Brempt Chapel. From later times in the 19th century, it is known that the mill had two water wheels and that it powered two oil presses and three grinding gears. Around 1895, the mill ceased operations entirely. A restaurant operated for approximately 80 years. In 1998, the mill building was extensively restored for residential use. An iron water wheel with 40 blades, replaced a few years ago, and remnants of the mill's technology are still preserved.Source: wikipedia.org

You used to be able to walk over the stones by the river to get even closer to the mill. Unfortunately, it's now closed off.
