The old parish church of St. Martin in Brigachtal-Kirchdorf testifies to over a thousand years of Christian life in Brigachtal. The discovery of a Roman coin from 96/98 AD is evidence of Roman traces of settlement. In the 6th / 7th A century after Christ, there must have been an Alemannic burial site under the church. Finds from the 7th century prove that this must have been one of the oldest Christian burial sites in this area.
