Soon, walking along the Demer between Diest and Zichem will be even more pleasant!

"The reconstruction of the old Demer meander near the Vinkenberg between Diest and Zichem had an additional added value effect on the environment. The footpath that lies downstream on the left side of the river was reopened. Nature still needs some time to grow out of it again, but that is happening quickly. In the meantime, work is continuing on the safety and biodiversity at that location. The bridge over the Leigracht was in poor condition and is currently being reconstructed. After completion, the Leigrachtweg can be used by cyclists and walkers, but occasionally vehicles from services will also pass by that have to guarantee the maintenance and layout of the site. This will soon be possible in safer conditions."
