The House of Löwenstein - or rather the Catholic line of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg - has shaped the history and appearance of the town. Abstatt also became the seat of administration for Happenbach - as far as it was Löwenstein -, Vohenlohe and Wildeck. Visible witnesses of this time are in particular the church and the old office building (today's town hall), both of which were built in the 18th century.
