The 63 m high Schüberg is an impressive elevation of the Bocksberg-Schüberg ridge. This regionally valuable geological object is a compression moraine from the Vistula glacial period, the last glaciation in our area, which ended around 15,000 years ago.
This landmark of the municipality of Ammersbek is specially protected as a natural monument.
On the mountain there is a memorial for the landowner Hedwig von Schmettau.
The rocks lying on the mountain come from the (new) Elbe tunnel and are intended to illustrate the former block scattering from boulders that is characteristic of a terminal moraine.
The Schüberg seems to have been a popular destination early on. At the beginning of the 19th century there was a house with a lookout tower. This tower or another existed until the beginning of the 20th century.
The Schüberg served as an excursion destination in the countryside up to the 60s of the 20th century.
But also Hoisbüttler associations (Liedertafel, warrior association) celebrated their festivals here.

Bocksberg, Schüberg and Mellenberg, three small 60s in the immediate vicinity. The little mountain pass.
Anyone who then conquers the Hummelsbüttel mountains of rubbish has passed the major mountain license in the north of Hamburg.
