The fish-rich lake is clearly visible from the rest area. At a slightly longer rest you can see some birds, with luck a kingfisher.

The Lottbek is a strongly meandering and near-natural stream in the Stormarn district and in Hamburg. It flows into the Bredenbek, which as the left tributary of the Alster, together with the Rodenbek and other smaller streams, forms the meltwater river system in the Rodenbeker Quellental, which was formed in the Weichselian ice age. Like most other rivers in the Quellental, the Lottbek flows in an east-west direction to the Alster. The source rivers of the Lottbek are the Moorbek and the Deepenreiengraben. The Lottbek forms a small reservoir in the upper reaches. Lottbek and Moorbek mark the border between Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein for several kilometers.Due to flooding, a diversion of the Lottbek stream bed in the Lottbek district of Ammersbek was examined between 2005 and 2009 and discussed with Hamburg. After 2009, the plans to relocate the stream bed were no longer pursued. The Lottbek is eponymous for the district Lottbek of the municipality Ammersbek at the subway station Hoisbüttel and several streets and paths in this district and in Hamburg-Ohlstedt. From the Heidkoppelmoor nature reserve and the area downstream, the stream is accompanied by hiking trails that run continuously near the stream except in the Hamburger Straße area in Lottbek.de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lottbek_(Bredenbek)

When we drove past the reservoir on 21.09.2019, very little water was available! Where are all the fish?
