Benedictine abbey in Tyniec together with the church of St. Peter and St. Paul - the Benedictine abbey in Tyniec in the south-western part of Krakow. The abbey in Tyniec is the oldest of the existing monasteries in Poland.

The abbey, situated on the limestone Monastery Hill on the Vistula River, was most probably founded by Casimir I the Restorer in 1044. It happened after the crisis of the young state, caused by the pagan rebellion and the Czech invasion. The Benedictines were to support the reconstruction of the state and the Church.

In addition to the guest house, restaurant, cafe and shop with products, the monastery also houses the abbey museum and the bookstore of the Tyniec Benedictine Publishing House.
