Although the overall geometric layout of the park together with the town and the castle is more like a Dutch-style baroque complex, the former baroque island garden was redesigned under Prince Franz according to the ideas of the English landscape gardener Sir William Chambers. It is one of the few Anglo-Chinese gardens that are still preserved to this extent in Germany.
