The transnational biosphere reserve "Flusslandschaft Elbe", recognized by UNESCO at the end of 1997, is the largest inland biosphere reserve in Germany at around 342,848 hectares. It represents one of the last near-natural river landscapes in Central Europe. The Auenhaus information center, which was created as part of Expo 2000, is the central contact point for nature lovers in the biosphere reserve. The exhibition in the pavilion provides information about the special features of the protected area.

We cycled through the area on the way from Oranienbaum to Dessau. Interesting, unspoilt natural landscape. Unfortunately we didn't see a beaver, only its tracks.
