Chur is the oldest city in Switzerland with a settlement history of over 5,000 years. The historic old town is well worth seeing and completely car-free. It offers an astonishingly large range of cultural offers, shopping opportunities, cafes, restaurants and bars.

Chur has one of the most intact old towns in Switzerland. It has been continuously restored over the past 20 years and is now practically entirely traffic-free. The old town is often the setting for colorful markets, for example every Saturday morning from May to October is the weekly market (farmers' market) and the traditional Christmas market takes place at the end of the year.
