It is a memorial - not a gravestone.
The five Eastern workers were murdered here and initially buried here. Later, after the war, in the cemetery in Niederkrüchten and then at the memorial for Soviet forced laborers in Rurberg.

This memorial for the murdered Ostarbeiterinnen, who were housed in the Elmpter Walderhalle, is located at the Landwehr in the Niederkrüchten area. They were suspected of looting. One policeman saw the crime as a trifle, but the second policeman reported it to the higher authority. Ultimately, they were shot by the Gestapo. They were later reburied in Rurberg in the Eifel.
