    Tips

Anyone who likes to be off the beaten path and appreciates that most of the route is traffic-free, can do without being close to the lake and prefers to look at it from an elevated position, will be happy here with a wonderful view rewarded across Lake Biel to the Alps!
Depending on the season, there are extreme differences in how the area affects you. It doesn't matter whether it's icy cold (maybe with snow), in spring when the tender green sprout or in summer only in the forest section in the shade and in autumn BEFORE or AFTER the grape harvest (during the same not recommended, because the vine growers work hard there and therefore many small vehicles are constantly on the move).
Depending on your stamina, the route can be interrupted at any time by finding the opportunity to go down to stop off or take the train back to the starting point or whatever. Many information boards provide information about the wine, the growing area, the winegrowers, their activities and much more. Basically suitable for families, but there are also a few steeper climbs!
Branch to the Twannbach Gorge, the Wine Museum, La Neuveville Castle, the Combe du Pilouvi (gorge, I also wrote a report on this) and much, much more. Marriage Church Ligerz... a concept? Even! You walk / drive past it in front of the front door!

The route above Lake Biel is an excellent alternative to the main road (construction sites) and the shore path. Many sights attract, whether hikers or bikers, the route is suitable in both directions, also for families. However, for the latter it is good to know that there are some steep climbs.
And if you are tired or hungry and thirsty, if you do not want to take care of yourself, you will find almost everywhere a possibility to get off and stop off and maybe return to the starting point by train, or whatever.
The route is recommended in all four seasons. In summer, however, only the section in the forest, as the slope warms up considerably. Alternatively, you can of course march into the Twannbach Gorge or the Combe du Pilouvi (gorge).
In autumn, it should be noted that BEFORE and AFTER the wine harvest, the tour is definitely more fun, as the vine growers work hard during the harvest time and many of their small trucks are on the road!

It is worth taking the time to visit one of the numerous winegrowers
