Tips
The Pioneer Training Pool 2 is the largest pit in the Wahner Heide. The pit was not created for military reasons. Exercises never took place. A civil engineering company operated gravel mining here. In the sixties, sand from the Rhine was removed here. Over the years, the pit became habitat for pines and birches.
