Schloß Reinharz- A castle still in deep sleep
Between 1690 and 1701, Heinrich von Löser, Electoral Marshal of the Electorate of Saxony, had a representative moated castle with a baroque park, castle and brewery pond built to accommodate the nobles during the hunting in the Dübener Heide. For the three-storey, horseshoe-shaped building, Löser oriented itself to the annual layout: the façade divided 365 windows, and the castle had 52 doors and 12 halls. The 68 meter high tower was used as an observatory in the 18th century. In the mechanical-optical workshop, valuable scientific equipment was created, i.a. Telescopes, mirror telescopes and sundials, 15 of which are on display in the Mathematical-Physical Salon of the Dresden Zwinger.
