Road Cycling Highlight
Ditchling Beacon is the third-highest point on the South Downs, with spectacular views - it's a great climb to test the legs on.

Good spot but I avoid the climb on the north side of the beacon as it is a tricky one for cars. There are a number of bridleways to the east that also provide a decent climb to the south downs way only minutes away from the Beacon but have no cars on them. The down side is that one is concrete and the other poorly managed tarmac. I have 35c road tires and it is fine.

Ditchling Beacon, novice riders like us calls it Bitchling Deacon because its a hard steep hill climb but once you reach the top it will reward you with beautiful scenic view of the Soith Downs and Brighton and Hove.

The KOM is out of reach, so take it easy and enjoy the climb. I actually went faster by doing so

Fantastic views from the top and this is a great little climb but nowhere near as tough as they hype would suggest.
