A long time ago, one of our forefathers took over his father's blacksmith shop in this beautiful place. Travelers could spend the night in the haystack and eat with the blacksmith and his family's pot in the evenings. Herberg de Smidse was open!
Many hospitable generations later, you no longer have to sleep in the hay. Yet time has quite consciously stood still for us. So that you can enjoy peace and quiet away from all the hectic pace. From the beautiful surroundings, our traditionally prepared dishes, or a nice drink. Here you can (almost) always sit outside, or inside our cozy inn.

On two wheels through the Heuvelland
Whether you want to race, cross or cycle at your leisure… we leave that to you, of course. In any case, it is all possible. There are several cycling routes through our beautiful Geul valley. Your bicycle can be safely stored with us under lock and key. And for the muddy bike ... we have a garden hose ready!
Battery (almost) empty? No problem, while you enjoy a nice snack and a drink with us, you can recharge it in no time! The one on your bike too ...
