Dietfurt is a closed, beautiful place with a Franciscan monastery and attached meditation house (Zen meditation), a Qigong way, a worth seeing small museum in the Holler house to the prehistory and early history with documentation of the excavations on the occasion of the construction of the Rhine-Main-Danube Canals, remains of a defensive wall with defense towers. The farcical Chinese fountain (from 1962) is related to the Chinese carnival, which has been celebrated since 1928 on "senseless Thursday" (Thursday before Shrove Tuesday). The reputation of a "Chinese city" goes back to the 18th century. A treasurer of the Eichstätt bishop was said to have tried unsuccessfully to collect tax. He complained to his bishop, "The Dietfurters seem like Chinese people hiding behind the wall."

The woman got her iced coffee in the ice cream parlor and I next to the Niedermaier my cream schnitzel. Both very tasty.

Beautifully designed cityscape. Almost like in an open-air museum. And electricity for e-bikes is free at the city hall.
