The excursion to the Hinter Gemstelalpe is worthwhile even if you have already taken a break at one of the other wonderful huts. Up here ends the farm road and above the Alps you have good chances to observe ibex and chamois. Especially in the morning or in spring and autumn, the shy mountain dwellers come down from the steep slopes.
