The Forggensee, also Roßhaupten reservoir, is a reservoir through which the Lech flows, which collects the meltwater of the Tyrolean mountains in spring. In winter, the lake is drained and by mid-June it is then filled again and can be navigated with an excursion boat. With an area of 15.2 km², the lake is the fifth largest lake in Bavaria and the largest reservoir in Germany in terms of area.
