The Hanstedter Töps is a plateau within the heather. In the varied and beautiful landscape there is a historic sheepfold, which is to be preserved as a cultural heritage with funds from the European Union's ERDF program.

Töps Heide Hanstedt - Sheepfold
You will find pure idyll for your vacation in the Lüneburg Heath in Hanstedt, in the heath plateau located around 2 km southwest of the town center.
The name "Auf dem Töps" suggests that it is a plateau located approx. 100 meters above sea level. That is quite a height in the Lüneburg Heath, if you consider that the highest point of the North German lowlands, the Wilseder Berg, is 169 m high. This height allows wonderful panoramic views.
At the edges of the plateau there are partly deeply cut erosion channels that form a varied heather landscape.
The heather plateau is part of the Lüneburg Heath nature reserve. This differently structured heather landscape, which is enriched by a shed and bee fences, offers the guest a typical heather landscape and thus many typical photo motifs.
During the heather bloom, from the beginning of August to mid-September, heather sheep graze on the Töps heath.
When the weather is clear, you can even look north from here to Hamburg.
