The Suderwick local history association writes:
"The historical coat of arms boundary stone no. 177 from 1766 is one of the 186 boundary stones that were placed on the border between Rekken and Oldekott and Dinxperlo and Suderwick on the basis of the Burlo Convention of 1765 and marked the border between the then Prince-Bishopric of Münster and the Duchy of Geldern. The boundary stone shows the lion coat of arms of the Duchy of Geldern and the coat of arms of the Prince-Bishop of Münster."
