The nameplates were removed (two plates were destroyed, two were saved by the local historian and museum founder Streblow; they are exhibited today in the Lindow Local History Museum).
The inscription on the granite stele was changed to:
„In memory of the dead, as a warning to the living. For the victims of the World War 1914–1918.“
Later, an addition was made for the victims of fascism 1933–1945.
