The New Forest Reptile Centre is open all summer until the end of September.

Discover more about British reptiles and amphibians and how they are being conserved in the New Forest.

Specially created display enclosures allow you to study these animals in close-up. This includes the only collection of all the native lizards, snakes, frogs and toads, including Britain's only venomous snake - the adder - and the rarest lizard - the sand lizard.

In addition to reptiles and amphibians, the New Forest Reptile Centre is home to 'A Date With Nature in the New Forest', which affords an opportunity to see birds of prey close up on nest cams.

A free, small, open-air zoo of sorts, built of a handful of walled pits with netting over the top containing examples of every native reptile. The enclosures mimic natural habitats with ponds, long grass, and bushes, so you may find it difficult to see the more shy animals. Best visited on warm sunny days when the reptiles like to bask in the sun, and quiet days when there are few other visitors to scare the lizards under their rocks.

Also includes a picnic area, schools nature education centre and a 1.5 mi walking route. Car park available, with a recommended donation of a few pounds to park, or walk from one of the free Forestry Commission car parks nearby

A pleasant place to pause and take some time to find the local reptile wildlife within the pens. Free entry, donations help.
