"The chapel was consecrated in 1529 by Auxiliary Bishop Jakob von Konstanz, it was probably built a few years earlier. Bärenbach was never an independent parish, but belonged to Ottenbach, Krummwälden or - as today - to Salach. The exterior and interior of the chapel as well the wall that surrounds the chapel and the associated small cemetery have often been renovated and renovated in the past.
