From the 10th century, two wooden castles of local rule were enthroned on the Jensberg (Chnebelburg) and on the Zihlufer (Guldhubel, i.e. at this point here). The dead were finally laid to rest in a chapel in Bellmund and at the church of Bürglen. The lords of Chnebelburg and Guldhubel left their seats in the 13th century and moved to Biel or Nidau.
From the Guldhubel castle there is only the 'Hubel' left, so there is not much to see, but it is always exciting to stand in a place with a history and to find out what happened there.
