The windmill at Nebel was built between 1770 and 1771 and was in operation until 1962. It stands on the highest natural elevation in the village and is the symbol of Amrum. The windmill has been a listed building since 1967 and is still fully equipped with the grinding steps. On the website amrumer-windmuehle.com of the association for the preservation of the Amrumer windmill the Amrumer windmill is clearly presented and the work of the association is explained.
