Tips
The "Kirchensteig" commemorates the time when Mitterfirmiansreut did not yet have its own parish and did not have its own cemetery (until 1929). Especially in winter, the two-hour walk to Mauth was very difficult and sometimes impossible. In the local area there are information boards along the short meadow path from the village road up to the forest on the Almberg, which tell the story of the church climb and the "fallen from the sky" snow church.
Today the Kirchensteig to Mauth is marked as a hiking trail and part of the Goldsteig.translated by
