Mellen's village church is within sight of the only surviving large stone grave in the Prignitz. Based on the quality of the masonry and the shape of the two original openings that can still be seen, Mellen's church was probably built in the 14th century. It is possible that she had always had a wooden tower and that the gate that was added today made the connection to it.
